Surya Voinar-Fowler, Master of Sport

Surya has had an impressive Kettlebell Sport career since May of 2008 when she first competed in the Long Cycle using a 12kg kettlebell.  Today, she is a Master of Sport in the 24kg Long Cycle (WKC), Master of Sport in 20kg Biathlon (RGSF), and Candidate for Master of Sport in 24kg Snatch (IUKL).   Surya is first American lifter to medal in Russia and is currently the most decorated female kettlebell lifter in the USA.

Best Lifter Award and Gold Medalist – 2012 World Kettlebell Lifting Championships (Chicago) – 20kg Biathlon

Gold Medalist – 2011 World Kettlebell Lifting Championships (Chicago) – 20kg Biathlon

Bronze Medalist – 2011 IUKL World Championships (New York) – 24kg Snatch

Silver Medalist – 2011 Open Cup of Europe (Chelyabinsk, Russia) – 24kg Snatch

Gold Medalist – 2011 AKC Long Cycle Championships (New York) – 24kg Long Cycle

Gold Medalist – 2010 Reebok Long Cycle Championships (New York) – 24kg Long Cycle

Best Lifter Award and Gold Medalist –  2009 World Kettlebell Lifting Championships (Chicago) – 20kg Long Cycle

Surya currently holds the American record in the 20kg Jerk.  In addition to being a Certified Kettlebell Lifting Coach (WKC), she works full-time work as the Director of a preschool.

As a busy professional, wife, and mother of two children,  Surya continues to draw emotional wellness and positive physical energy from her participation in group fitness at the Ice Chamber and as an active Kettlebell Sport competitor.
